"Lacey"
The dog's name was Ch Shelmar Silver LaceO'Malpsh. The year 1986. She
unexpectedly won 9 points, both majors her first weekend on the Florida
Circuit 21 years ago. I was so thrilled that I hopped on a plane for Florida
only to see a reserve win. I must have been a jinx. These were her first
points and she was to be my first homebred Champion.
The minute she was born I knew she was special. Her clear blue silvery
color was amazing and her head moderate and blocky. Something I had hoped
for. Her producing ability is far reaching, being the dam of BISS Ch Shelmar
Only In A Dream and Ch Ashwood Slight of Hand, CD, ROM and the great granddam
to Am/Can/Int BIS Ch Eastbrooke Come Fly With Me. Many pedigrees go back to
her and to this day, I can still see traces of Lace in puppies that come down
from her.
Taking a walk down memory lane,
Cathy
Lacey was our very first homebred Champion. She is the dog that will forever
hold my heart. She gave us 2 very special tri sons: BISS Ch Shelmar Only In A
Dream and Ch. Ashwood Slight of Hand, CD, ROM. Lacey also leaves us with many
Ch Grandchildren. We can still see "traces of Lace" in our current blue bitch,
Ch Shelmar Dreams of Lace.

"Justin"
Justin
was the most correct Sheltie that Shelmar has ever bred. His clean head and
almond eyes were exceptional. In very limited use, he sired 7 Canadian
Champions and 2 American Champions.
His very first National, Justin won the 9-12 mos dog
class. He was than pulled for consideration for Best in Futurity. From there
he went on to win the Harrisonburg SSC for a 5 point major under
breeder/judge Harriet Smith. He than went on to finish his points under all-arounders
and breeders alike.
After a short time at stud up north with Judy Kelsey,
he came home and won the Tidewater SSC Specialty for a BOB over many
specials, even those given recognition at National Specialties.
At the 1998 National Specialty in Tucson, AZ. Justin
received 1st place in the 9-12 year old Veteran class.
With each litter that we breed, we still look for
Justin in every puppy that we produce, since he was an exceptional
representative of the breed.

Justin is pictured winning the '98 Veterans class under judge Judy Kelsey.
His quality was still evident at age 11. He will forever hold a piece of my
heart and a dog that I will always hold dear.
Best of Breed under Harriet Smith
